Kangaroo Island is tipped to get its share of $100 million for bushfire and COVID-19 recovery in the Federal Budget due to be announced today.

Exactly how much KI will receive is unclear.

Mayor Michael Pengilly said the KI Council would welcome any additional funding to help the recovery process.

The priority for the council was "roads, roads, roads" and it was hoped the funding would go toward a priority list of recovery projects developed by the council, Mr Pengilly said.

Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack will make a pre-budget address to the Regional Institute Australia, then doorstop after the speech at 1.30pm.
