Archers hit the mark at championships

A group of 43 archers representing 12 clubs from around the state converged at the Kapunda Harness Racing Club on Sunday, August 30, to compete in the South Australian Archery 2020 State Clout Championships.
Despite the inclement weather male and female archers aged from 10 to 70 took to the field with their longbow, recurve, compound or crossbow equipment to shoot 3,870 arrows at distances ranging from 100 to 180 metres with the goal of winning a state medal.
The day was deemed a great success by the judges, competitors and visitors who praised the venue and left the event in high spirits and the hope to revisit the Light Archers Club again in the near future with the possible hosting of the 2022 State Clout Championships.
