Once again young people have the chance to dip their toe into the life of politics by applying for the YMCA SA Junior Parliament education program.
Stuart MP Dan van Holst Pellekaan is on board urging regional students from 12 to 15-years to learn about parliament, meet new friends and to develop their leadership skills.
According to Mr van Holst Pellekaan, this apolitical program enables participants to learn about democracy, parliament and develop skills with regards to team building, public speaking and leadership.
"Junior Parliament gives young people the opportunity to have their say on issues they care about and it would be wonderful to have participants from the electorate of Stuart take part," he said.
This program involves a three-day/two-night camp and is open to those living in South Australia.
The initiative will be held from October 2-4, which includes a day in Parliament House debating the Bills the junior parliamentarians have written.
A participant fee of $240 is involved which covers meals, accommodation and transport while on camp.
Application close September 20 with forms available at www.sa.ymca.org.au/JP
