Hundreds of runners take to Barossa roads

Sunday, August 11's Barossa Marathon Festival attracted hundreds of runners of varying levels of fitness as they took to the picturesque streets of Tanunda.

In the full 42km marathon, Paul Mulholland was the first male across the line with a time of two hours and 34 minutes and Ashlee Shepheard was the female champion with a time of three hours and 18 minutes.

In the half marathon, which drew almost 500 competitors, Byron Goodrick and Chloe Lane were crowned champions with times of one hour 19 minutes and one hour 26 minutes respectively.

The 10km category winners were Michael Nitschke with 32 minutes and Jackie Staples with 40 minutes.

David Hunt's 19-minute and Rachel Hobbs' 23-minute efforts were enough to win the 5km run.
