Major Crash investigators who remain at the scene of a double fatal truck crash outside Truro today (Thursday) appeal for more information from any witnesses.

Just after 11.30am on August 8, police and emergency crews were called to the Sturt Highway, about 500 metres east of Stonefield Road, after two B-doubles crashed head-on.

CFS crews attended the scene after both b-doubles caught fire.

Sadly, both drivers, a 26-year-old Riverland man and a 64-year-old Andrews Farm man, died in the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or had to take evasive action to avoid a collision is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.

The Sturt Highway remains closed between Truro and Blanchetown until further advice due to extremely hazardous driving conditions and debris from the crash. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and drive to the conditions.

The two deaths take the state's road toll to 73. It was 43 at the same time last year.
