A 36-year-old motorist is lucky to be alive according to SA Police after the van he was driving skidded off the road and crashed into trees just outside Williamstown on Thursday.
Just before 4pm on July 11, a Greenacres man was driving a Toyota van which left the Para Wirra Road after he failed to safely take a bend due to a combination of excessive speed and a wet road.
The vehicle sustained damage after crashing into trees.
However, the man was fortunate to walk away uninjured.
Yet he was issued a $253 on the spot fine for failing to keep control of his vehicle and his van was defected.
The van was towed from the scene.
Police remind all road users to drive to the conditions and heed speed warnings signs particularly when driving through country areas.
