Back home this week when we hosted Kapunda for 'Ladies Day' - and what a fantastic afternoon with the function raising some amazing $'s for the National Breast Cancer Foundation of Australia.
A huge thanks to those who helped organise this event, and many thanks to all who provided donations and sponsorship.
It was also great to host the corporate function for Elders Roseworthy representatives and their guests - thanks to all who helped with this function.
It was a good day all round for our club with both Senior mens, Senior womens, U17's, U15's and the Under 13's all having good wins.
In the A's it was another good team effort with everyone playing their role well.
Better players on the day were Leigh Westhoff, Lachy Earl, Luke Snowden, Aron Fechner and Sam Dunn.
The B-Grade bounced back this week with a solid four quarter effort. Josh Clasohm was best on ground, support by Ryan Bignell and Ben Britton.
Tanunda Under 17's had a good match setting up the win from the first quarter kicking 6 majors. Jed Habermann was strong in ruck and worked hard all over the ground.
Kapunda came back in the second half as our mid fielders Blade Trevorrow Josh Hoklas and Tyson Healy, did a great job sharing and controlling the ball, to our forward players Shay Linke who finished with four while other goal kickers Bayley Pink, Riley Westbrook and Isaac Feltus kicked 2 each.
It almost looked like a winter sport for the junior colts as they hosted Kapunda on a somewhat unfamiliar damp surface with a sprinkling of rain to make things more interesting.
A wet ball can make for some scrappy football but the Tanunda boys settled in quickly and were looking good early in the game.
Plenty of players committing to every contest and disciplined play again showed some good within the team.
A number of players stepping it up a notch and playing their best game for the season, no doubt making a tough task to pick the best players.
Patrick Brooks, Coan Linke, Nick Holmes and James Roehr all getting a nod for their contribution to the win. Best Players were Finn Reed, Will McCabe, Syd Pick, Darcy Thompson, Tyson Linke and Hamish Martin
The U13s got some reward for effort by getting their first win of the season last Sat, 10.8 to Kap 3.2 and were very excited to sing the club song.
The kids really came out firing in the first quater and were very clean in the wet, slippery conditions kicking five first quarter goals. The kids are really putting into games what they are learning at training.
Jett Assender had a brilliant game taking big marks and kicking big goals.
There were some great 'one per cent efforts' from Tom Roesentburg, Calum Tobin, Jacob Wood, Bow Habermann, Josh Thompson, Flynn Martin, Thomas Teague and Ned Fiddock.
Goal kickers were Jett Assender with five, Nash Reilly two, Ariel Rothe, Ryan Lane-Ellis and Zavier Dswonitzky with one.
Better players were Jett Assender, Ariel Rothe, Axel Bignell, Ryan Lane-Ellis, Nash Reilly, Angas Ninnes and Harvey Fechner.
Awards went to Nash Reilly, Angas Ninnes and Axel Bignell.
The u11s played a very competitive Kapunda side in a tight contest that saw lots of tackling and pressure from both teams.
Great sportsmanship was shown with a couple of tanunda players switching sides each quarter to help out Kapunda, which was greatly appreciated and allowed everyone to get good game time.
Thomas Menzel captained the side and picked up a number of good touches.
Awards this week went to Archie Koch who took some strong marks in defence, Lachlan Dening who continues to improve each week, and Ryder Pink who was sharp around the packs and kicked a great goal from a very tight angle.
The u11s look forward to a Saturday morning game at Freeling this week.
Friday night U9 White clashed with the Kapunda Bombers.
Our team goal for the game was for everyone to have a handball which most of boys did exceptionally well. Great work team.
Awards for the game went to Ben Hansen-Amanti Pizza (Happy Birthday) and Cooper Day - Footy club voucher.
