Mount Pleasant's Top of the Torrens Theatre Group new director Mo Johnson shares how happy she is to join the team.
"This is my first time at directing, and in this respect I must pay tribute to the 'Stirling Players' to which I have been involved in since arriving in Australia in 2006 and appeared in the production Daylight Saving in 2007," she said.
"After that I became more involved in stage management at the community theatre, eventually joining the 'Stirling Players' committee and taking on production management for many of their award-winning shows over the past 12 years.
"I have learned much from directors Dave Simms, Hayley Horton, Erik Strauts, Megan Dansie, Geoff Brittain and John Graham.
"This being so, and having had the luxury in the past of not being at the pointy-end of directing, it came as a bit of a shock initially to realise how much the cast and crew at The Top of the Torrens counted on the ability of me as director to nurture them through the initial raw stages of rehearsal to a final show worthy of our local audiences.
"I hope that my directorial debut of 'Bunkered' will go down well with everyone who comes up to Mount Pleasant Soldiers' Memorial Hall to see it."
