After running his own floor covering business since 1996, Brian Grant began operating Barossa Carpet Court nine years ago.
Prior to this, Brian had been employed in the flooring industry since 1986 and boasts 33 years experience in the industry.
“We sold the previous business in September 2009 with the intention to have some long service leave,” Brian said.
“However, I think we managed about three weeks in all," he joked.
“It then came to my attention that Carpet Court in the Barossa was on the market.”
“To work and live in the Barossa Valley, that is such a beautiful part of the country, comprising of many beautiful townships that are home to equally beautiful communities, was too great an opportunity to pass up.”
The owners had a goal to employ predominately local individuals when they took over the business and have achieved it as all of their employees are now from the Barossa area.
The 14 employees have a wide range of skills which cover anything and everything from sales, operations, administration, installers (flooring and blinds), warehouse and apprentices.
“We offer a broad range of products from carpet, vinyl, vinyl tile/plank, hard flooring including timber and laminates to blinds (indoor and outdoor) and roller shutters,” Brian said.
“We also install 95 per cent of the products sold.”

“We are very privileged to belong to the biggest buying group in Australia.”
“This means we have access to the very best prices, products and support from the group to allow us to in turn give the absolute best to our customers.”
“No need to make the trek elsewhere when we have both the best product and the best price right here in the Barossa Valley.”
“We certainly have country service at city prices.”
When asked what he loves about working in the community Brian said people in the Barossa are an awesome bunch.
“Most of the people in the Barossa are an absolute pleasure to work with and I appreciate that they trust us with something as precious to them as their family home or their investment home,” he said.
“I strongly believe in putting back into the community in which we live, work and play.”
“We sponsor many of the local clubs and not for profit organisations in our community.”
“I am personally involved with the Kapunda Bowling Club and the Kapunda Car Cruise that raises funds to support the Kapunda Hospital.”
