Angaston VS South Gawler
Angaston continued their winning form over South Gawler with a five wicket win in the one day final.
South batted first and struggled their way to 143 with several batsmen getting starts but not going on with the job. Ben Antonie and Lucas Bramberger were the pick of the Angaston bowlers.
Angaston cruised to an easy victory with Locky Lade top scoring with 40, Greg Bain and Too Hottie Rathjen making 30 each and Benjamin Burgess chipping for 20 before losing a couple of wickets in the sight off victory, but victory and the Premiership was theirs.
Kapunda VS Gilbert Valley
In the regular BLCA games, Kapunda have had their best day for quite a while when the compiled an impressive 8 for 238 against Gilbert Valley.
Most batsmen made a start with Brett Johnson top scoring with 48 while Jimmy Vanderleur (2 for 18) and Tommy “Gun” Connell (3 for 42) were the pick of an under par bowling performance.
If Gilbert Valley fail to get over the line in this contest, they will fall out of the top 4 and deliver a blow to their final’s chances.
Sandy Creek VS Mallala
Sandy Creek thanks to Adam Kokot’s workman like 106 ret, made 7 for 323 against Mallala, Old man Cory Roberts made 57no and Zac Kreuter (35).
The wheels have certainly fallen off the Mallala machine at this point off the season.
Winning the toss on a 39 degree day, Mallala did the unthinkable and put the Cockies into bat and ultimately paid the price by chasing leather all around the field.
Such was the temperature, Kokot had to retire with heat issues and Mallala used 10 bowlers throughout the day who all struggled to make an impact.
Tanunda VS Freeling
Tanunda and Freeling are involved in a tight contest with Tanunda slightly in front in a game dominated by the Bowlers.
Centrals VS Light Pass
In the A1res, Gawler Centrals made 298 against Light Pass at the dog track in trying conditions.
Christopher Bilney continued his good season with a sparkling 128, Opening bat Ashley Johnson a breezy 51 and Aaron King, 42.
Light Pass stuck to their task extremely well in the heat, they bowled and fielded well with young gun Landon Schulz taking his first 5 wicket haul in A grade and Danny Kaye and Simon “Granddad” Davies bowling well.
Eudunda Robertstown VS Angaston
Eudunda Robbie compiled 8 for 257 with Brodie Launer (83no), Sam “The man” Nietschke (51) and Gus Handke (52) making most of the runs, while Bradley Sibley took 3 wickets for Angaston.
Angaston have slowed up considerably recently, while they will make the finals, they will have to improve their general play if they are to be a Premiership contender.
Greenock VS Willaston
Greenock jumped into the top 4 for the first time in several years with a stunning outright victory over Willaston on day one of their match.
The Slunga’s completely dominated this match with Stephen “Hoges” Hogan top scoring in the match with 62no and young gun Benny “and the Jets” Roenfeldt spinning his magic web and taking 11 wickets.
At times the Willaston batsmen had no idea which way the ball was turning, and they played very few attacking shots against Roenfeldt.
Nuriootpa VS Lyndoch
Nuriootpa had the better of their clash with Lyndoch, dismissing the Dockers for a subpar 159.
The Goulding brothers Shaun (44) and Nathan (38) made starts with bat and Danny Doecke (4 wickets) and Jake Heinze (3 wickets) were the best of a very good bowling attack for the Tigers.
