Have you ever wanted to celebrate Australia Day with delicious all local Australian food?

Mt Pleasant Farmers Market are making this a possibility by hosting a special twilight market in the lead up to Australia day on Friday January 25.

Market Manager Genevieve Hebart said the Market will be themed with all the Australian trademarks and will feature a thong throwing competition and a special backyard cricket pitch.

“From Limousin beef to free range pork there is no better way to celebrate being an Australian but to support our farmers through your fresh food shopping for your Australia Day BBQ goodies at the Mt Pleasant Farmers Market,” Ms Hebart said.

“The market will be held in the picturesque Mt Pleasant showground, and over 40 stallholders present, plenty of parking will be available, plenty of tastings and dinner options available, the twilight is the perfect start to your Australia Day long weekend.” said Genevieve.

The market will open at 5pm and go through to 9pm. The not-for-profit Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is run by a community group, and is usually held every Saturday from 8am – 12 noon.

With the exceptions being when twilight markets are held, there is no market the following Saturday after a twilight event.
