An overtaking lane between Nuriootpa and Truro on the Sturt Highway that has sat in a state of disrepair for most of the year will be built – again.
The overtaking lane, initially built many months ago, quickly deteriorated and pot holes still litter the stretch of road.
Traffic restrictions have been in place in the area ever since.
When asked, the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) said that works are now planned for next year.
“Technical investigations have been completed, and rectification works are planned to commence in the first quarter 2019,” said a DPTI representative.
“DPTI will continue to work closely with the contractor to monitor the condition of the overtaking lanes until the works are completed, but until that time the lane will remain closed with traffic management and signage in place and we thank road users for their patience.”
