Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers is the creation of Jon and Nicole Durdin’s love of gin and the Barossa Valley.
Nicole and Jon began working on the site that would become Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers in May 2017 and officially launched the business on Friday, October 5.
According to Nicole, the whole idea started as a throwaway comment by Jon back in August of 2015.
“We were living in Winchester in the UK and I was having a bit of a career crisis,” said Nicole.
“We didn’t know a lot about gin, apart from what we liked to drink, and a bit of research into gin production and the craft spirits industry in Australia revealed to us that it was something we wanted to pursue.”
As a seventh generation Barossan there was never any doubt in Nicole’s mind about where they wanted to settle and build their business.
“We love using local suppliers and supporting other local businesses as much as we can,” she said.

“We have found great appreciation in seeing how local businesses work together, particularly from a tourism perspective, to bring more visitors to the Barossa.”
“In supporting each other we can continue to improve our own practices and provide better products and experiences for both locals and visitors alike.”
Jon and Nicole are passionate about making all their small-batch Barossa gin onsite at their purpose-built distillery, to be enjoyed by gin-enthusiasts near and far.
They have created something unique in Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers with the tasting room designed in a way that visitors can witness the magic of distilling while undertaking a Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers gin tasting.
“We have a fridge stocked with local and outside produce, so you can put your own platter together, or you can book in for a tour and tasting.”
After each tasting, guests are invited to stay a little longer and enjoy the view from the deck, while sipping on a refreshing gin and tonic.
When asked what was in store for Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers in the future Nicole said while the business is still in its infancy, they already have plans to expand and grow the business, both domestically and internationally.
“Our ultimate goal is to continue making the highest quality products we can,” she said.
