Councils split on hard rubbish collection

Neighbouring Councils Barossa Council and Light Regional Council will offer very different levels of hard rubbish disposal to their residents this month.

Last week Light Regional Council promoted kerbside hard rubbish collections to a limited number of residents. In the same week, Barossa Council announced half price dumping for two days in November.

While Light Regional Council ratepayers can ask for free hard rubbish pickups, ratepayers in the Barossa Council will have to travel to the Springton Transfer Station between 9am and 3pm on November 10 and 24 to be able to dump their waste at half price.

The Council emphasised that there was only a limited number of residential kerbside waste collections available to Light Regional Council ratepayers.
