A man has been reported for a number of traffic offences after he was caught speeding at Evanston South this week. Just after 1pm on Thursday, October 11, a police motorcycle officer was conducting speed detection duties on Main North Road when he detected a Ford sedan travelling at 144km/h in a 90km/h speed zone. The driver was stopped and checks were conducted on his licence which revealed he had a suspended P2 licence. He also allegedly returned a positive result when drug tested. The 29-year-old Elizabeth Downs man was reported for speeding, driving at a speed dangerous, breaching his provisional licence conditions and driving while suspended. His car was impounded and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
