Four BVHA junior teams do region proud

Brayden Warner was presented U13 Boys Player of the Championships at the Regional SA Junior Hockey clash during the October long weekend.

Brayden Warner was presented U13 Boys Player of the Championships at the Regional SA Junior Hockey clash during the October long weekend.

The Barossa Valley Hockey Association had four teams represent at the recent SA Regional Junior Hockey Championships, Port Pirie, over the October long weekend. 

The championships, open Regional Association teams only, is a great opportunity for young players to compete and gain experience.

Hanna Kingsmill, Gawler Hockey Club senior player and junior coach Hanna Kingsmill took a young U13 girls team, mostly made up of U11 girls. The Girls came sixth in the seven team competition.

U18 boys fought hard through and were comfortable second when they went into the preliminary final against Port Pirie, but unfortunately went down to the home team.

After a win in the preliminary final, the U13 boys they earned themselves the game in finals. It was a golden goal in extra time that lost it for the boys to Naracoorte. Brayden Warner was presented U13 Boys Player of the Championship.

The U18 girls came runners up to Port Pirie, and Maya Standish was presented Player of the Finals.
