Cellarmasters host October wine sale

Wine lovers, rejoice – the Cellarmasters Barossa Warehouse Sale is back and it is fully stocked with amazing wines at up to 75 per cent off retail price.

The sale is taking place on Saturday, October 13, and will feature over 250 different wine brands and thousands of heavily discounted bottles.

“This huge vintage clearance is the biggest in the Barossa, and is a great opportunity for wine lovers to stock up on good quality wines, especially considering the festive season is just a couple of months away, ” Cellarmasters cellar director and wine educator Christine Ricketts said.

When it comes to what wines to buy, Ms Ricketts recommends choosing your wines well.

“The two things you should pay most attention to is vintage, which means the year the grapes in the wine have been harvested, and the wine variety.

“Based on those factors, you should be able to tell if it’s a wine that ages well, or if you should drink it now,” she added.

If cellared well, a good quality Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Riesling or Chardonnay can last you many, many years, and may not just improve in taste, but get more valuable over time.

“A sale is also a great time to discover wines you’ve never tried before. Mediterranean styles like Tempranillo, Nero d’Avola and Sangiovese are very popular at the moment, and they’re great food wines, so make sure to try them if the price is right.

“If you want to surprise and delight yourself, get a mixed wine case,” she added.

Normally based in Sydney, Ms Ricketts will attend the warehouse sale and will assist customers discover great quality wines.
