A man has been stabbed to death in a violent attack in Adelaide's south, with another man charged with his murder.
The victim was stabbed in the abdomen at a unit block in Seacombe Gardens early on Wednesday morning and died at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Fitzgerald said neighbours tried to help the victim after he staggered to the footpath.
"Local residents have rendered assistance, they've done everything they can to try and save this man's life, unfortunately they were unsuccessful," Det Insp Fitzgerald said told reporters on Wednesday.
"They did everything they could do to be able to help this person."
A 33-year-old man was arrested and later charged over the death, and will front Adelaide Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.
Police said the pair knew each other and the stabbing was not a random incident.
Crime scene examiners remained at the property with police also speaking to witnesses and nearby residents.
