The Kapunda Tennis lighting project is now complete, with the final three of the seven courts having lights installed.
The work has been driven by the Kapunda Tennis Club with support of the Dutton Park Management Committee.
The club was successful with an Office of Recreation and Sport Grant application, which, together with major sponsorship from local wind farm company RES Renewable Energy Systems and the Community Store Nuriootpa, went a long way in funding the project.
The Kapunda Tennis Club is also well supported by the local business community at Kapunda and by Tennis Australia through its Court Rebate Program.
Professional lighting company, Sports Lighting designed the works, installed the poles and lights and the electrical works were completed together with local business Daniel Mudge Electrical.
Kapunda now looks forward to the 2018-19 tennis competition which is also the club’s 50th season.
To celebrate the club’s 50th year there will an historical display at the club room/courts on the Saturday November 17, from 1pm to 6pm with light afternoon tea and refreshments available.
Anyone who has had an involvement with the club over its 50 years, or has an interest in tennis or with the Kapunda region in general is invited.
