SAPOL's Gawler Weekly Crime Report

Car break-ins continue to be a concern in the community.

Here are a few tips to keep thieves out of your vehicle.

  • Lock your car. It may seem obvious but sometimes we forget. Make it a habit to check and double check that your car doors are locked.
  • Always take your ID and valuables with you. Many smash-and-grab thieves act on impulse, so keep your stuff out of sight!
  • Don’t forget to stash your power plugs, MP3 adaptors, GPS devices – and even the windshield suction-cup mounts.
  • Take your keys with you and don’t ever assume you have a great hiding place for the spare key in your car – thieves know where to look!
