The legacy of the region’s long-time music teacher Kerry Warry now lives on in two Barossa high schools following the Warry family’s recent generous donations.
On Friday, husband Les with two of his daughters presented engraved flutes each to Kapunda and Nuriootpa high schools to support their music departments.
The act of kindness came after the Warry family lost their music devoted family member earlier this year, with money encouraged for the memorial flutes at the funeral in lieu of flowers.
Mrs Warry, who passed away peacefully at Tanunda Lutheran Homes just two days after her 80th birthday, was a well respected music teacher at both high schools.
She was described as an excellent musician with high level of skills in flute, singing and keyboard, with a great sense of humour.
