The 2019 Barossa Vintage Festival director Jenny O'Brien begins her new role on Friday.
“The team and I are excited to welcome Jenny, and we are looking forward to the fantastic contribution she will make to the 2019 Barossa Vintage Festival,” regional tourism manager Cathy Wills said.
Ms O’Brien brings 20 years’ experience working in leadership roles across commercial, non-profit, community and government sectors.
She recently moved back to South Australia to join her family in the Barossa Valley after spending more than ten years working interstate and overseas.
Her recent role in Vietnam involved working with the country’s primary non- government organisation in the development of a corporate and strategic partnerships division.
Ms O’Brien had the opportunity to collaborate with companies and local non-profits in fostering partnerships, lead national events and contribute to the development of best practice Corporate Social Responsibility in Vietnam.
She also brings with her, great experience and knowledge to the Tourism Barossa team having managed major and local community events including Tour Down Under Race starts, Henley Food and Wine Festival and Cancer Council’s Think Pink Ball.
In addition, Ms O’Brien has experience in managing partnerships at AGL, including Melbourne Victory, Richmond Football Club and NSW Business Chamber.
A passion for collaborating with community and business to take a vision and make it a reality through innovative and creative solutions is also at the forefront of her thinking.
She will work out a timeline for community liaison and event registrations so now is the time to start planning your Barossa Vintage Festival events.
The 2019 festival is scheduled from Wednesday, April 24 to Sunday, April 28.
