As Mount Pleasant celebrates 175 years, the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market and History Room have teamed up to host a time-capsule laying ceremony.
The ceremoney is set to take place at the Wisteria Atrium in Talunga Recreation Park on Saturday, June 16, at 11am.
Within the capsule, which was created by John Bowd of the Mount Pleasant Mens Shed, various items from a number of local businesses and organisations will be stored until the capsule is opened in 2043.
Mount Pleasant Farmers Market marketing manager Terese Stephens said organising the time-capsule had take sometime and it was a great feeling for it to be finally going ahead.
The event is scheduled to coincide with the Saturday morning farmers market before local historian Paula Bartsch leads a guided historic walk around the main street.
“The markets have become a great networking place and help bring the community together,” Ms Stephens said.
