Angaston put away the disappointment of making two grand finals in 2017 only to be runners up in both, with two special victories on Grand Final Day this year for The Co-op BLGW football competition.
Last year they made both grand finals only to come up short in both games.
There was no such heartache on Sunday when they proudly displayed their two premiership flags for the u14 girls and Senior Womens divisions.
In the U14 Grand Final, the Fiebiger twins, Molly and Libby reigned supreme in an emphatic victory over a gallant Willaston team. Kate Argent-Bowden was also a solid contributor in Angaston’s maiden premiership.
For Willaston, Dakota Williams was superb all game for her team, as was Nina Gouws, Talia Laubsch and; Maya Molloy. Final scores were 10.4.64 to 2.4.16.
Kapunda took out the U17 premiership with a heart stopping two point win over a brave Barossa White team.
Darcie Brown was inspirational for her team mates, dominating contests all over the ground.
She found good support in Tess Gerhardy and Lillie Roth, as well as the entire Kapunda team who rallied to get their side over the line in the final minutes of the game.
For Barossa White, Rhea Cameron, Annalese Howard and Maddie Lane all played superb football to nearly steal the game. Final score 4.6.30 to 4.4.28.
The Senior Women’s grand final also went right down to the wire, with Angaston eventually claiming victory over a determined Barossa Blue team.
Kate Harris showed superb skills to be best player for her team, and Emma Keys and Amanda Reinders also played well in the grand final.
For Barossa Blue, Taryn Wills, Kiarra Christensen and Diana Naylor put in great performances for their team. Final score 8.8.56 to 6.5.41.
