Nuriootpa is now home to a publically accessible defibrillator courtesy of a new partnership between On The Run and St John Ambulance SA.

The two organisations have joined forces to install defibrillators at OTR sites across South Australian with an aim to assist in saving lives of those in regional communities.

OTR Nuriootpa was the first site in the state to have the defibrillator installed on Wednesday with the St John’s “CPR Lab” van also travelling to the site.

This allowed the local Barossa Valley community to test their CPR skills with feedback from Bluetooth mannequins and see AED demonstrations.

The first 12 defibrillators will be installed in regional towns throughout 2018.

OTR Chief Operating Officer Peter Piliouras said OTR was looking forward to the partnership.

“OTR is at the heart of SA communities and we are proud to support an investment that can potentially save lives and promote awareness and use of defibrillators in regional areas,” Mr Piliouras said.
