Long weekend in March a group of Kapunda’s community and surrounding districts went on a cruise to the Riverland to raise money for the Kapunda Hospital.

The cruise has been running for two years and we have raised $61,027.40. The first year we raised $25,200 with this year a grand total of $35,827.40.

We wish to thank our major sponsors, Fairmont Homes, Barossa Carpet Court, All Covers Roofing Services, JT Johnsons & Sons, Solar Water Pumps, Bolts Electrical Services & Technology, Kapunda Business Alliance Inc. and all our other wonderful sponsors.

We traveled on 85% dirt and seen some of our beautiful country in the Riverland. Starting from Kapunda, Eden Valley, Swan Reach, Morgan and stayed at Waikerie for the night at the Waikerie Hotel. Thanks to Andrew for a wonderful night.

Next day our adventure traveled to Remark to have lunch on the Murray River Queen then journeyed to the Woolshed to taste the HARD Lemonade.

Came along the border road which reminded most of the old Varity Bashers of bull dust roads and headed to Loxton. Loxton Hotel had the pleasure of our company for the night and thanks to Crystal and crew and Russell Ebert for supporting our cause.

Last day we traveled to Wunkar for a pit stop and then headed to Mannum via Young Husband to have lunch at the Mannum Hotel. Headed for home with a stop at Stockwell.

The final dinner was held at the Kapunda Bowling Club with an auction and Steve Grant to finish the night. Thank you to Steve Grant as he followed and played for free at Waikerie and Loxton.

We are having a meeting at the Sir John Franklin at 7 pm on the 29th May for a debrief and begin organising next years cruise. The plan is to cruise the Yorke Peninsular.

Kapunda Charity Car Cruise wish to thank everyone who supported us for this Cruise.
