Last Friday, World Day of Prayer focused on the country of Suriname.
Leader Liz Mosey firstly paid tribute to the late Patricia Bonsack and her work on the State World Day of Prayer committee.
Liz welcomed a small crowd to the Uniting Connections Hall who appreciated and enjoyed the program presented by the planning committee.
Suriname is a small tropical country on the northern coast of South America.
A skit of God's creation was presented, a DVD shown of culture and people of Suriname, particularly focusing on the plight of the children and to pray for them.
An offering was taken in support of the children and raised $240.
Hymns were sung to praise God's creation, accompanied by Helen Schiller on the Clavinova.
A light luncheon was served to conclude the service.
