Ski for Life is a water ski relay over a distance of 450kms from Murray Bridge to Renmark in three days, March 9 to 11.

The event is run to raise awareness and to take action to promote mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention.

Money raised is used to set up programs that empower communities with the skills to support and mentor fellow men and women who are "doing it tough" throughout rural and regional South Australia and Victoria.

A giant charity auction will be held at the Cobdogla Club on the night of Saturday, March 10.

2017 saw 15 teams and 150 participants involved, with teams from all parts of regional SA and Victoria raising over $40,000.

In 2018 there will be 20 teams with more than 200 people registered for the event.

The Kapunda Krew is putting a team in again this year and looking forward to all the fellowship, fun, trials and tribulations along the way.

Our family first became involved in the Ski for Life Relay in 2014, and has had an involvement every year since (this year’s team is pictured).

We have blown up a motor, run aground and bent propeller and pro shaft, and broken a boat trailer trying to retrieve a disabled boat.

This year’s ambition is to finish unscathed.

Our team is very grateful for the generous support shown by businesses and the people of Kapunda with cash donations and goods donated for the charity auction.

Anyone who would like to make a donation (all tax deductible), please contact Graham Davidson on 0408 402 201 or Megan McWaters, 0408 441 701.
