Region four events manager, Ruth Scoot, has had a busy week co-ordinating two events – the State Triples at Eudunda last Sunday, and being team manager for the Women’s Round Robin last week in Adelaide at Payneham.

At the State Triples, sixteen teams competed from five clubs in Riverland and four from Barossa. The players were challenged with changing conditions as light rain came in the afternoon.

The sectional winners were determined after three matches played.

Section one winners were Waikerie’s Wayne Collins, Butch Burnett and Nathan Cronin; section two winners were Renmark RSL’s Dominic Catalano, David Ludas and David Wilson; section three winners were Barmera’s Ben Quarterbornes, John Scholes and John Morena; and section four winners were Eudunda’s Jono Voigt, Matt Jones and Aaron Jones.

These four sectional winners will compete in knockouts at Eudunda on Sunday, March 4.

Ruth Scoot as Team Manager of the region four Round Robin side, which comprises players from Riverland, Broken Hill, Mid-Murray and Barossa, (including four new ladies in the side) was impressed with their performance.

Even though finishing seventh overall, there were many close matches and players competed well.

A highlight was the Top Skipper Award from region four for Country Round Robin, for Skipper Kerry Treloar (Berri), Carol Shugg (Barmera), Mel Morrow (Renmark RSL) and Judy Milde (Eudunda).

They won six matches and drew one.
