The Barossa was on Hollywood heart-throb alert over the weekend, following news Chris Hemsworth had popped into Rowland Flat Jacob’s Creek.

A Jacob’s Creek representative told the Barossa Herald the Thor actor was at the iconic winery for a “private function” to promote its premium wine range, Double Barrel.

The Home and Away graduate took a tour of the winery and tasting room, sampling some of the product, blending his own shiraz with Jacob’s Creek chief winemaker Ben Bryant, and crowning the Hemsworth block.

Hemsworth said it has been a privilege to see much of Australia and the world, but getting to the Barossa during vintage is an experience he won’t forget.

“We've been warmly welcomed in the Barossa by the Jacob's Creek team who have taken us into their home and shown us what makes this place and its wines world class,” he said.

“As someone who travels a lot I’m always looking for things that can remind me of home and a glass of Double Barrel does just that."

Hemsworth narrated the Double Barrel television ad titled ‘Two Barrels, One Soul’ late last year.

An anonymous Tanunda source told the Herald Hemsworth had stayed at luxury accommodation Kingsford Homestead, located on the edge of the Barossa, on Thursday night.

Meanwhile the Jacob’s Creek representative confirmed Hemsworth and his family did not stay on site on Friday night and left the region on Saturday morning.

The Barossa is no stranger to Hollywood’s A-listers hosting Hilary Swank last November and Harry Styles and Niall Horan in 2013.

Jacob’s Creek said Scottish DJ Calvin Harris had also recently visited their site.
