Continuing its generous support to students in Kapunda and surrounding areas, the Kapunda Community Thrift Shop recently donated $3000 to the Kapunda High School Centenary Foundation.
Over a number of years, the town’s thrift shop has contributed a total of $15,000 towards the work of the foundation which is now in its 10th year of assisting Kapunda High School students get ahead in their post-school studies and vocational training.
In accepting the donation, secretary Anne Hornsey thanked the group for its donation and commended the thrift shop workers on their valuable and generous contribution to the Kapunda community.
“The excellent presentation of goods for sale make it a popular place for local shoppers and many organisations and individuals have significantly benefitted from the fund-raising efforts of the volunteers who run the shop,” she said.
“This donation will go towards the Centenary Foundation Annual Awards for 2018 where we shall be distributing approximately $25,000 in grants to a number of worthy students at our presentations early in February 2018.”
The thrift shop on Kapunda Street, is open from 10am to 4pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 12noon.
