Aldi hotdogs recalled over bacteria and bone fragments

Aldi supermarkets have recalled a range of hotdogs due to potential microbial contamination and the presence of foreign matter.

The NSW Food Authority issued the recall for Berg Smallgoods American Style Skinless Hot Dogs in a 375g plastic pack, for date codes up to and including a January 28, 2018 use by date.

The foreign matter found in the hotdogs includes bone fragments.

“Consumers should not consume this product and should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the warning stated.

“If you are concerned about your health you should seek medical advice.”

Aldi is conducting a close investigation with the supplier of the product and is collaborating with the NSW Food Authority.
