With plenty of variety located virtually at your front door, there’s no excuse not to shop local this Christmas.
And Tourism Barossa’s “Shop Barossa, A Taste of Christmas” is a prime opportunity to support local retailers while also having a fun day out.
“We are excited to be again supporting local retailers as part of this year’s Christmas retail initiative,” regional tourism manager Cathy Wills said.
“Shop Barossa is all about encouraging people to shop locally, but to also promote the region as the ultimate shopping destination, to drive visitation.”
Over 30 Barossa retailers have collaborated to create a one-day shopping experience by offering exclusive specials alongside indulgent bite-sized Barossa treats on Saturday, December 9.
And if the shopping promotions weren’t enough, there’s the added benefit of tasting the Barossa, with everything from homemade honey biscuits to cheese, mettwurst and bubbles on offer.
One lucky shopper will also win a $200 shopping voucher to be spent at a store of their choice.
This is the fourth Shop Barossa activation co-ordinated by Tourism Barossa, which aims to highlight the diverse range of shopping options across the region.
“Whilst our retail sector continues to thrive and grow in the Barossa, it is vital that we support these local businesses who strengthen our community,” Ms Wills said.
“Our recognition as a retail destination and a place to come to shop is growing, particularly amongst intrastate and interstate visitors. But Shop Barossa is also about encouraging locals to stay local to shop.”
