A man has been reported following a collision between a train and utility on Friday evening near Mallala.
At about 10.25pm on Friday, October 6, a freight train travelling between Perth and Melbourne collided with an abandoned white Holden utility which was left unattended on the track at the junction of Calomba Road and Broster Road, Calomba.
The utility suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene, and the train was able to continue on its way after a short delay with only minor damage having been caused.
On Monday, October 9, police reported a 30-year-old man from Owen for driving without due care, driving disqualified and false report to police after police will allege he claimed the vehicle had been stolen.
He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
