He has yet to make his Bachelorette debut entering later in the season as an intruder, but it's been speculated that Sophie Monk has chosen Stuart "Stu" Laundy as "the one".
And while it remains to be seen what the former Bardot singer, 37, might see in the $500 million publican heir, 44, the son of Arthur Laundy and brother of Liberal MP Craig Laundy is not the only family member with notions of a reality television career.
Fairfax Media has been told by an insider on The Real Housewives of Sydney that his ex-wife and the mother of his four daughters, Rachel Laundy, has made the shortlist for the eagerly anticipated second season.
It seems Laundy has a type - a celebrity and blonde - having been romantically linked with Sophie Falkiner and Laura Csortan in the past. Monk was also in his sights with mutual friends trying to set them up on a date last year.
"But ??Sophie cancelled at the last minute because she was hungover," he told News Corp in June.
Monk, a self-described "massive bogan" who was once engaged to Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden now husband of actor Cameron Diaz, and Laundy, a member of one of the country's most powerful pub families with the Watsons Bay Hotel and a super yacht to his name, might seem like an odd pairing, but "if they do get together they will be really good", a Laundy family friend told Fairfax Media.
"They're both really good, funny people. [The Laundys] are quite devout Catholics but pretty down to earth people. They made their money from some pretty rough pubs so nothing would shock them and she does like a drink," they laughed.
Like his political brother, Laundy relishes the spotlight having already starred on SBS's Filthy Rich And Homeless this year.
"He likes people to know who he is, but he's a great guy," another friend added.
RHOS has yet to confirm a second season, but producers have been spotted in Double Bay chatting to some primped and preened new potential cast members.
"Rachel is not a name I've heard mentioned," explained RHOS star Krissy Marsh, who is keeping busy in between seasons with work, kids and organising a charity lunch in Brisbane in aid of Red Hill Special School
"We've all been asked to submit names for who we would think is good, it's a waiting game for now."
Marsh wouldn't be drawn on who, but The Goss has heard high-profile interior designer Janelle "Nellie" Tilley, ex-wife of hotelier Simon Tilley, who is a brother of James Packer's confidant Ben Tilley, and "Princess Pilates", Sonja Darbey, who runs a pilates studio in Edgecliff are both in the mix.
Fairfax Media has asked Rachel and Stuart Laundy for comment.
