Barossa seniors are invited to attend two free presentations with a focus on keeping mobile in the future.
Run by RAA, the ‘Years Ahead’ sessions held on Tuesday, August 22 in Nuriootpa provide vital information about keeping mobile into the future.
RAA Manager Community Education Belinda Maloney explained the presentations are a chance for seniors to update their knowledge and receive vital information.
“RAA is committed to assisting all South Australian road users, with Years Ahead designed specifically to support and educate senior members of the community,” she said.
A ‘Mobility Matters’ presentation will run at 10am and will centre on alternative transport options, in particular motorised wheelchairs, also known as mobility scooters.
“We’ll cover what you should consider before buying a motorised wheelchair, choosing the right one for your needs, your legal responsibilities and roadside assistance for when you break down.”
While a ‘Lifestyle’ presentation, at 2pm, aims to assist people who are either approaching or in their retirement years.
“It covers a range of interesting topics including security in the home, interstate motoring, car maintenance, saving money on fuel and more.
“There are still spots available at both sessions, so we’re encouraging Barossa residents to join us for an enlightening and entertaining couple of hours,” Ms Maloney added.
The session run for an hour and will be held at the Barossa Council chambers, 43-51 Tanunda Road, Nuriootpa.
