South Australians are being urged to stay alert and ensure they are fully immunised against measles after a third case was confirmed today.

A 25-year-old Adelaide woman is in a stable condition in hospital after contracting the highly contagious disease in South East Asia, following two similar cases last week.

SA Health has urged anyone planning on travelling to areas prone to measles to ensure they have received the two-dose measles vaccination.

The virus  spread via coughing and sneezing and the illness begins with a runny nose, fever, cough and sore eyes.
