Kapunda’s North Kapunda Hotel, as seen on international hit television show ‘Haunting: Australia’ which stars the township’s own Allen Tiller has been featured this week on the MSN Travel website as being in the top 12 most haunted bars in the world.
Ranking in at number eight of 12 bars, alongside some infamously haunted locations such as the ‘Glen Lodge and Pub’ in Cape Town, South Africa; ‘Ostrich Inn’ in Buckinghamshire, England; ‘The Banshee Labyrinth’ in Edinburgh, Scotland and the ‘Ear Inn’ in New York City.
The North Kapunda Hotel is now on the world stage as one of Australia's most haunted locations and is currently home to the Kapunda Ghost Crime Tour every Friday and Saturday night.
Haunting: Australia is currently airing across the United Kingdom, extending Kapunda, and the Barossa Valley exposure to the world, as Chateau Tanunda is also a central feature of the episode.
The North Kapunda Hotel and Chateau Tanunda were hand picked by Allen for the television show, using his local knowledge of haunting in the area.
Allen, and his wife Karen also had a hand in bringing the Ghost Crime Tour company to Kapunda and helping them establish the tours.
Allen’s first book ‘The Haunts of Adelaide’ featuring 30 stories of ‘History, Mystery and the Paranormal’ from the city of churches is due for release on December 3, which will be followed another book ‘The Haunts of Kapunda’ next year in 2015.
