Time is running out for people to cast their votes in the state government’s Fund My Neighbourhood initiative which has given the community power to nominate projects to enhance their area.

On Wednesday the public has the opportunity to take part in workshops to support voting of ideas, with the nearest meetings to take place at Nuriootpa and Eudunda.

In Greenock, the initiative has led two passionate community members with the Greenock Community Village Association to nominate an upgrade of the only existing and outdated play equipment at the town’s oval.

According to the members, Greenock is a growing community, boasting a large number of young families.

They shared how many families have been travelling outside the town to visit other parks and playgrounds.

It is anticipated a new play area will provide a space for families to get outdoors and play with their children, and encourage greater family support for local sporting and community events.

It is further envisaged the equipment will provide an appealing feature to the Centenary Park for both day and overnight tourists to the town.

The Fund My Neighbourhood team will appear at Eudunda RSL Hall Railway Terrace, 9am-10am and Nuriootpa, St Petri Church, 21 Second Street, 2pm-3pm.
