The Town of Gawler and the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources have successfully negotiated a 10-year lease agreement over a portion of the ground floor in the council-owned Gawler Administration Centre, 43 High St, Gawler East.
The council is excited to be co-locating with the Gawler office of Natural Resources Adelaide and Mt Lofty Ranges (AMLR) which will be relocating to the Gawler Administration Centre from their current office accommodation on the corner of Adelaide Road and Seventh Street, Gawler South.
“Council and Natural Resources AMLR work together on a number of issues throughout the council area, and it is expected the co-location will enhance collaborative opportunities between the organisations,” Mayor Karen Redman said.
The tenancy area includes a dedicated space for the community-run Gawler Natural Resource Centre, now named the Gawler Environment Centre.
The Gawler Environment Centre will continue to provide advice and assistance on issues such as sustainable land uses and environmentally friendly living.
It is anticipated that Natural Resources AMLR and the Gawler Environment Centre will be commencing operations in the Gawler Administration Centre in late November.
