Applications for the Barossa Future Leaders program are open and is a great chance for young Barossa people to become specialists in their field.
Now entering its fourth intake of participants, the success of the program has meant 48 community leaders have completed an intensive one-week residential school.
According to program co-ordinator and inaugural participant Brooke Howell, the Barossa has a foundation of strong leadership and the program aims to build on this tradition.
She said, “The program is about bringing together people who are actively involved in their local community and using their passion and knowledge to ensure that the Barossa continues to be a fantastic place to live and work”.
Throughout the week participants will network with peers and take inspiration from the regional leaders they meet. By the end of the program they will have developed a capacity to become community leaders.
Topics covered include, leading people, sales and marketing, commerce, strategy and goal setting and personal effectiveness. Each evening the group will be hosted at a dinner by a regional hero or leader.
Participants will also be required to research and deliver a group project with community relevance and benefit to be presented in October.
Previous participants have gone onto roles in peak regional organisations and committees.
The program will run from September 3-8 at Novotel, Rowland Flat and candidates need to apply now and be fully committed to the program which is limited to 16 people. For application forms, contact Ms Howell on 0411 408 358 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
