SWING ERA: Here's your chance to be part of a unique event which will transport you back to the 1940s.

Grab your friends and step back to an era when swing dancing and jazz music ruled, all thanks to the Women of the Barossa through the SA CWA Tanunda night branch.

The clever ladies are hosting a September Swing for Saturday, September 2, to feature entertainment by The Elliott Sisters with Swing & Tonic.

And according to president Katrina McAliece, dressing up in 1940's attire, while fun, is not mandatory, but there will be a best dressed prize presented on the night.

“It will be a fantastic way to support your local community while having fun,” she said.

Tickets are already on sale and while they are selling well, Ms McAliece is keen to spread word of the event which she believes will resonate with young and old.

Tickets are $55 per person or $500 for a table of 10. However, you’ll need to secure your place by pre-purchasing tickets online as they won’t be available on the night.

Also included in the ticket price is a light supper catered by Barossa Country Kitchen as well as some CWA homemade treats.

“There will be awesome raffle prizes, silent auctions and giveaways on the night thanks to amazing local and national companies who combined and have promised/given over $5000 (and counting) worth products/vouchers plus wine/drinks for sale on the night,” Ms McAliece added.

Part profits from the night will go to the Barossa Area Fundraisers for Cancer and the Kind Hearted Kitchen.

Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase on the night.
