Celtic training camp comes to Gawler

The Gawler Eagles Soccer Club exposed its players to some of the best coaching in the world, hosting the Celtic Football Club international football academy.

About 60 players from the not just the Eagles, but also surrounding clubs like Munno Para West, Modbury and Angle Vale enjoyed the clinics at Karbeethan Reserve, event organiser Peter Bermoser said.

“The two-day clinics were very positive, every player got to understand what it would be like if they where playing or training within the Celtic Academy,” he said.

“Each player not only received mentoring as a group but the coaches vested time doing one-on-one elements that assisted in that player understanding some areas they can personally improve on.

“Every player really enjoyed the sessions from warm up activities through to technical based and game related drills, the coaches also discussed nutrition and injury prevention.”
