On Thursday night the Kapunda Branch of the Liberal Party of SA hosted the Wakefield FEC dinner meeting where Senator Simon Birmingham was  guest speaker.

Members from branches throughout the Wakefield electorate, from Clare to Gawler, attended the meeting at the North Kapunda Hotel.

Mr Birmingham gave an overview of current issues facing both the federal government and the South Australian government.

He and his fellow representatives for the state were working hard to put the interests of South Australians at the forefront of government policy.

Events regarding the energy crisis being experienced by the state had also manifested in other states and the need for a cohesive and cooperative energy policy across the country had taken a high priority with the federal government considering several serious options.

Mr Birmingham also spoke on moves towards a fairer and more equitable Child Care support policy.
