Family and friends have farwelled Maxwell Edgar Fatchen at a funeral service at the Hewitson Theatre in STARplex, Gawler.
A newspaperman, a children's author and an all-round good guy, Max passed away on October 14, aged 92 years.
Hundreds of people attended on Wednesday to celebrate and give thanks for the life of Max and reflections of his life were given by his co-workers, family and the Member for Light.
Before the ceremony come to an end a cream bun was placed on Max's casket to honour his love for the sweet treat.
His casket was then carried out of the theatre by Trinity College students in Fatchen house to the sound of Purcell's Sound the Trumpet.
