Facebook horse comes to Gawler

19 Jan, 2012 08:36 AM
Vote for Lust, the racehorse with a Facebook page and a sponsor, came to Gawler on Wednesday.

Unfortunately for connections, Vote For Lust is gaining notoriety because he is Australia's most losing thoroughbred.

And he kept the record in tact coming home 10th in a field of 14 in the Coopers Pale Ale Maiden over 1500 metres.

It was the 84th start for the nine-year-old which is trained in Mildura by part-owner John Castleman.

Jockey Adrian Patterson rode three winners on the eight race card but even his talent wasn't enough to get Vote For Lust to the winner's stall.

But the gelding's fame continues with his own Facebook page and corporate betting agency Betfair sponsoring him.

So Vote For Lust's record now starts at 84 starts - no wins, five seconds and five thirds for stake earnings of $21,282.

But there were local celebrations aplenty at Gawler. Find out who and why in next Wednesday's edition of the Herald.
