A Barossa Valley swimmer has won the prestigious Bradley Trophy for the second year in succession.
The trophy is awarded at the Henley to Grange open water swim.
This year’s event was held on Saturday, February 13.
Rick Chmielewski brought home the trophy for the fastest swimmer over 40. Last year the trophy was won by Ruth Grace.
Seven swimmers from the Barossa successfully completed the 2km endurance event.
Philip Grace, 13, was the youngest Barossa competitor.
Swimmers entered the water from the Henley jetty and exited at the Grange jetty while spectators walked along the beach.
Unlike last year, weather conditions were perfect in 2010 however, the current was against them so swim times were down.
Water-craft and aircraft continually patrolled the coastline during the event to ensure swimmers felt safe at all times.
All swimmers who completed the event received a certificate but Barossa swimmers excelled, bringing home four medallions in addition to the Bradley trophy.
Stephen and Hannah Grace and Shane Alford all won silver medallions for finishing second in their age group.
Ruth Grace gained a bronze medallion for coming third in her age group.
