Fight for Light

16 Mar, 2010 03:57 PM
Everything points to an incredibly close election result on Saturday.

The next state government could hinge on the state’s most marginal seats.

That means the results from Light and Stuart could be hugely influential.

A victory in Light could be the difference between a majority win or a hung parliament.

In Light the contest will focus on the Liberal’s Cosie Costa and Labor’s Tony Piccolo (pictured above). It’s a similar battle for Stuart where Sean Holden (Labor) and Dan van Holst Pellekaan (Liberal) hope to grab the seat that takes in Kapunda.

In both seats there are a host of minor parties and single-issue candidates.

There is little doubt the preferences of these ‘others’ will help to clinch victory for one of the major parties.

Meanwhile in Schubert, expectations are that Liberal stalwart Ivan Venning will be returned.

However, anything could happen.
