Tanunda Show ready to bloom

09 Mar, 2010 05:14 PM
This Saturday’s Tanunda Show is set to burst with action, colour and flavour.

Everything from the best dill cucumbers and rote grutze, to the home-brewed beer and poultry will be on display.

There will be prizes galore on offer - with plenty of recognition for exhibitors.

The show will double as the Dahlia Society of SA’s annual championship.

Tanunda’s Neville Jaeschke (pictured above) will convene the Dahlia section with his wife Liz.

He said the Dahlia exhibition should be amazing.

Other highlights are set to include:

* The Kegelbahn Cup - possibly the biggest nine-pin challenge in the country.

* SA Dill Cucumber Champioship.

* 'Bruce Thiele Memorial' SA Pickled Onion Championship.

* SA German Yeast Cake Championship.

* SA Rote Grutze Championship.

* South Australian Handmilking Championship.

* Aussie Letterbox Competition.

* Giant fruit and vegetable competition.

* Sunflower competition.

* Country Women's scone mix competition.

All this will take place at the Tanunda Oval on Saturday, March 13. Gates open at 8am.
