Extended walking trails in Angaston and a program to ‘beautify’ the Mt Pleasant main street program will be delivered after the Barossa Council secured about $100,000 funding.
The council has committed to match the State Government People for Places funds, which means each town will receive a $100,000 facelift.
In Mt Pleasant, footpaths will be extended and street furniture installed.
Pedestrian safety across Melrose street will also be improved.
In Angaston, the linear walking and cycling trail network - which links the town’s parks, reserves, the village green, schools, new housing developments, tourism facilities and the main street - will be upgraded.
The path aims to promote healthy and active lifestyles by enabling safe and enjoyable movement through the town.
